An American company contacted us to re-design their 4-stage office chair production line to make it compatible for different shaped and sized chairs and cushions. The task was to create universal fixtures that can be easily modified by the operator to match the current product. The complex geometry of the chairs made it complicated to design for manufacturability.

Therefore, we decided to utilize additive manufacturing. This way our engineers could use surface modeling to completely redesign the fixtures. Combining these technologies resulted in the following solutions where operators can easily do the changeovers under a minute.
